TARGET GROUP:
The aim of this course is to familiarize participants with the unique nature of the airside, the various roles and responsibilities required to maintain a high level of safety, the major elements of airside safety and some of the common hazards that they may encounter.
COURSE OBJECTIVES - UPON COMPLETION OF THIS COURSE, PARTICIPANTS WILL BE ABLE TO:

MODULE 1:
Introduction to a series of airside induction modules that needs to be completed to qualify for an Airside Permit.
MODULE 2:
Know Your Airport Get to know the layout of your airport
MODULE 3:
Personal Protection Rules on personal protection
MODULE 4:
Fire Management Fire hazard prevention and notification.
MODULE 5:
Apron Cleanliness Rules for keeping the aprons clean.
MODULE 6:
Ground Handling Aircraft ground handling rules.
MODULE 7:
Vehicles on Airside Rules regarding vehicles and equipment on the airside

COURSE OBJECTIVES - UPON COMPLETION OF THIS COURSE, PARTICIPANTS WILL BE ABLE TO:
- Understand the responsibilities of the Airport Authority as the mandatory in terms with the legal framework
- Have a clear understanding of the employer’s responsibilities towards the employees, in terms with the requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Understand their responsibilities as employees towards their employers through which to ensure their own safety as well as that of others including the safety of Aircraft, Equipment and Facilities
- Be able to implement the airside standards as established by the Airport Authority and to identify possible hazards on the airside as well as the elimination there of.
